Scrap the Boys Design Team - March Challenge

I had a lot of idea's floating around in my mind for this months Scrap the Boys challenge. I was initially inspired by the title 'When I grow up I want to be...' and I actually created another layout of Seb and his long lasting obsession with construction, but that's now for another blog post!

As this months challenge is generously sponsored by Cut to You, we received access to the super cute Robots cut file and as soon as I saw it I knew I had use it to create my layout. I cut the robots out on my Brother Scan n Cut SDX1000 from white card stock.

Recently, I have been trying to complete a layout a month of Seb's baby album. I found this darling photo of him in a robot onesie when he was just a week old. It wasn't the greatest quality photo, so I made it black and white when I printed it.

I used a mixture of Cocoa Vanilla Studio boy collections to create this layout. The background is the Star Fall paper from the Boys Rule collection. I backed the robots with various papers from my Cocoa Vanilla Studio stash. I felt like the robots needed grounding, so I used a strip of the B side "Straight and Narrow" paper to do that.

I kept the embellishments to a minimum as I wanted the photo and robots to be the stars of the layout. Most of the embellishments including the small robot die cuts are from the "Totally Rad" digital files that I printed and fussy cut.

I matted the photo on two layers of paper "Happy Go Lucky" and "Straight and Narrow" from the 6x8 paper from the Boys Rule collection. I liked the way the green made the photo pop off the page and how it tucked into the robots hand.

I found the title while searching for robot scrapbooking titles and used mini foam alpha's from the Pink Paislee "Pick Me Up" collection in white. I manually die cut the word Love on my Sizzix Big Shot Foldaway.

I hope this layout provides some inspiration for the March Scrap the Boys challenge. Head over the blog to see more inspiration from the rest of the Design team and enter to win a fabulous prize pack from Cut to You.
