CSI Scrapbook Challenge - Cold Case No. 306

Image
I attempted to solve this case using  using the colour scheme, florals, butterflies, birthday theme cutfile and title.  I used the Cocoa Vanilla Studio 'Make a Wish' Collection, the 'Cake' cutfile from COAPA and Lindy's Gang Magical Shakers (Alpine Ice Rose, Guten Tag Teal and Bavarian Blue) to create the mix media background. CSI Scrapbook Challenge - Cold Case No. 308

I discovered the CSI Scrapbook Challenge through the Cut to You Newsletter, I was immediately inspired by this case file and just couldn't wait to get creating. I used the fun free Circle Eight cutfile from the Cut to You newsletter (head over to  https://createdbygwen.com.au/free-stuff/  to sign up), cut on white card stock and just about used every collection in my stash to create this layout of my partner Ray on his birthday! I hope you can take some inspiration from this layout and head over to the CSI challenge blog to join in the fun!

So Thankful

I had a lot of fun creating this layout for a photo that was captured of my beautiful family on the last day of 2019! I used the gorgeous Cocoa Vanilla 'Happiness' collection for this layout. Although this collection has been out for a little while, it is still relatively new to me so I had enjoyed playing with all the beautiful elements. I started with smooth white card stock coated in a thin layer of clear textured gesso (Mont Marte brand). I used Alpine Ice Rose Lindy's Gang magical shaker and pre-mixed it with water to create the striped background and splatters. The border is the beautiful Meadow paper from the collection, that I have machine stitched to the white card stock using white thread. The photo is printed with a white border and it is backed on the same Meadow print but this time using the smaller design from the 6x8 paper pad. I used some adhesive foam to pop up my photo and created a space for the two tags to be able to slide in and out easily to include s

I don't scrap chronologically, as sometimes there is a story I want to tell or a product that I want to use with a certain photo or I get inspiration for a layout that matches a photo or story to be told. I do however store my 12" x 12" and 8.5" x 11" layouts chronologically amongst my weekly project life (and I'm still getting April 2019 complete 😬). But this layout was all about the story to be told and I couldn't wait until I was ready to scrapbook September! I printed out my journal which is something I don't do very often and used the PicCollage app to collage my photos. I used the Cocoa Vanilla Studio You Rock Collection to back the Star Streak 2 cutfile from COAPA ( https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/684784948/star-streak-2-cut-file-svg-png-pdf?ga_search_query=star%2Bstreak&ref=shop_items_search_2 ). There is a mixture of other Cocoa Vanilla Studio collections used for embellishments along with the title.  The back ground paper is

Scrap the Boys Design Team - January Challenge

Happy New Year! And happy new Scrap the Boy challenge! January sees a fun colour challenge to start the new year and the new decade: The Boys Rule collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio was the perfect match for this colour challenge. I used the B side of the Entitled paper as the background and the Balloon cut file from COAPA ( https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/724625067/balloons-cut-file-svg-pdf-png?ga_search_query=balloon&ref=shop_items_search_2 ) which I bumped up on foam to add dimension and be able to add the sequin shakers. The sequins are a blue mix and gold stars I picked up in the Black Friday sales from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I used the 6x8 paper pad to back the photo and the balloons (these are bumped up on double foam for extra dimension). I used a mixture of the die cut ephemera, accessory stickers and flair buttons to embellish the layout and finished it off with some gold splatters (Heidi Swapp color shine) and enamel dots from the Colour Me Happy collection.
