Scrap the Boys Design Team - July Challenge









The challenge for Scrap the Boy this month is a gorgeous mood board called Tickled Pink, with lovely pinks and blues. I started by making some backgrounds using the bubble technique (if you want to learn more check out Vicki Boutin's YouTube video) using Distress Oxide spray's in faded jeans and milled lavender. I cut the Bubbles of Fun cut file from Cut To You (https://createdbygwen.com.au/product/bubbles-title-cut-file//) with my Brother Scan n Cut. I used the May Kitaholics Kit to create this layout. I backed the Bubble title using paper number 24 from the Horizon collection by Paige Evans. I created 5 shaker pockets using a mix of Cream, Blue, Periwinkle and Soft Pink sequins from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I embellished the layout using the floral ephemera from the Bloom Street collection by Paige Evans and also some exclusive cut aparts from the Kitaholics Kit. I finished off the layout with some sprinkles of Heidi Swapp Gold color shine.

With the March Challenge being sponsored by Cocoa Vanilla Studio, my mind went straight to the latest boys collection 'Boys Rule'. I had only used this collection to complete 2 layouts before tackling this challenge, therefore I had a wonderful range of products to choose from! This layout was inspired by Anna Komenda's gorgeous layout using the 'Midnight' collection, that I swooned over from the Cocoa Vanilla Studio instagram account  https://www.instagram.com/p/BuYY1TNltfv/ I use a light blue Faber-Castell Gelatos and Heidi Swapp colour shine in Seafoam for the mixed media background. The Happy Go Lucky paper is the border paper, which is machine stitched onto white Kaisercraft cardstock that has been coated in clear Mont Marte gesso. May Challenge - Scrap the Boys

I knew I had the perfect photo for the Scrap the Boy challenge this month, however with a slump in my creative mojo I did struggle to know where to start in creating a layout. I checked out the Design teams creations and took some inspiration from the lovely Melinda Sweetmans layout. I found a beautiful cut file from the CUTtoYOU esty shop called 'Flower Crown', created by Gwen Wruck and pulled out a range of Cocoa Vanilla Studio supplies to create this: The background paper is the B side of 'Full Bloom' from the 'Hello Sunshine' collection. The light woodgrain was speckled with Heidi Swapp colour shine in gold before adding the cutfile bumped up on some craft foam. I backed the flowers of the cutfile with the beautiful pink 'Hip Hooray' paper from the 'Make a Wish' collection and the leaves were backed with scraps from my stash. Scrap the Boys Design Team - April Challenge

I had a lot of fun creating this layout for the April Scrap the Boys challenge. I took inspiration from the dinosaurs and sprinkles in this image: I used the Dinosaur Background cut file from COAPA , cut in white card stock and sprayed with Distress Oxide Spray in twisted citron. I mounted the cut file on foam tape and created 5 shaker pockets with various sequins from my stash.  I used the Cocoa Vanilla Boys Rule collection to create this layout.  The Messed Up paper is the background and I used a mix of the ephemera, cut apart sheet and stickers to embellish the layout. The title was created using some mini puffy alpha stickers from the Everyday Musings collection by Pinkfresh Studio. I finished the layout by adding sequins in the top left and bottom right corners to draw the eye diagonally across the layout.   I hope you can take some inspiration from this layout and head over to end this months challenge at Scrap the Boys .
