Puzzle Master

I don't scrap chronologically, as sometimes there is a story I want to tell or a product that I want to use with a certain photo or I get inspiration for a layout that matches a photo or story to be told. I do however store my 12" x 12" and 8.5" x 11" layouts chronologically amongst my weekly project life (and I'm still getting April 2019 complete 😬). But this layout was all about the story to be told and I couldn't wait until I was ready to scrapbook September! I printed out my journal which is something I don't do very often and used the PicCollage app to collage my photos.


I used the Cocoa Vanilla Studio You Rock Collection to back the Star Streak 2 cutfile from COAPA (https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/684784948/star-streak-2-cut-file-svg-png-pdf?ga_search_query=star%2Bstreak&ref=shop_items_search_2). There is a mixture of other Cocoa Vanilla Studio collections used for embellishments along with the title. 
The back ground paper is the Galactic paper which I used white gesso on to help make the backed cutfile pop. I also add gold splatters with Heidi Swap colour shine to finish off the layout.

With the March Challenge being sponsored by Cocoa Vanilla Studio, my mind went straight to the latest boys collection 'Boys Rule'. I had only used this collection to complete 2 layouts before tackling this challenge, therefore I had a wonderful range of products to choose from! May Challenge - Scrap the Boys

I knew I had the perfect photo for the Scrap the Boy challenge this month, however with a slump in my creative mojo I did struggle to know where to start in creating a layout. I checked out the Design teams creations and took some inspiration from the lovely Melinda Sweetmans layout. I found a beautiful cut file from the CUTtoYOU esty shop called 'Flower Crown', created by Gwen Wruck and pulled out a range of Cocoa Vanilla Studio supplies to create this: The background paper is the B side of 'Full Bloom' from the 'Hello Sunshine' collection. The light woodgrain was speckled with Heidi Swapp colour shine in gold before adding the cutfile bumped up on some craft foam. I backed the flowers of the cutfile with the beautiful pink 'Hip Hooray' paper from the 'Make a Wish' collection and the leaves were backed with scraps from my stash.     This months challenge is all about mixed media. Although I love the look of mixed media and have a fair amount of supplies, I'm not great at using it on my scrapbooking layouts. But I enjoyed getting messy like Sebastian did in the photos I'm scrapbooking.
